When you think of Pinterest, your mind may spring towards weddings, decorating or outfits inspiration. And to a degree, you’d be correct. Pinterest is the app for inspiration – people don’t always have the words to describe what they’re looking for, but they’ll know it when they see it, and Pinterest is extremely visual.
However, unlike other social media platforms (in fact, Pinterest positions itself as a ‘search engine in its own right’, rather than a social media platform) people on Pinterest are looking to act. They’re actively looking for inspiration whether it be for recipe ideas, homework tips, ‘life moments’ (birthday parties, bucket list trips) or to plan for what’s next (home renovation, university, a new baby).
In essence, rather than the content finding them; they’re finding the content. And arguably, they’re also looking to spend.
In fact, more than 433 million people head to Pinterest for inspiration each month, with women making up 60% of its global audience.
And shoppers on Pinterest spend twice more a month than people on other platforms.
Add to that, Pinterest Ad Campaigns… Unlike Google Ads, they’re extremely visual/not text-based and so by their nature should be more eye-catching and therefore have a higher ROI. Compared to other social media platforms, Pinterest ads have 2.3x more efficient CPC. And 2x higher ROAS when it comes to retail brands.
At Little Red Rooster our team is well versed in managing your ad campaigns across all social media platforms (and ‘search engines’, like Pinterest). And often for our interiors and lifestyle brands in particular, it’s the highest driver of traffic to a brand’s website compared to Facebook or Instagram.
