How social media is informing PR – and vice versa

In the last five years, the rise of influencers, decline of print media and growth of social media users has seen the traditional role of PR completely change. As an agency, we’ve seen this compounded with more and more clients asking us to take on their social media strategy. In 2020, our social media business increased by a staggering 440% across both retained clients and new. Consequently, LRR created a dedicated team to handle its social media offering.

What each Instagram feature can do to help your brand engagement

Social media marketing is all about engagement. What used to be a ‘who has the most followers?’ slight muscle flex, is now more like a ‘who has the highest engagement rate?’ strongman/woman competition. The biggest difference between the two is that engagement rate will indicate the quality of your following and is considered much less of a vanity project. However, that doesn’t stop brands, celebrities or influencers obsessing over following – it is the most visible indicator of a profile size after all.
