Meet the Client: Martin Willers and Per Brickstad, Transparent

We work with superbrands and start-ups across the board. It keeps us on our toes and with each achievement we get a huge buzz – it’s a very special thing to be part of a brand’s beginning. One of the coolest start-ups we have worked on was, in fact, the most successful product launch on Kickstarter – Swedish, circular home audio brand, Transparent.

Meet the creator: Chris Haslam, journalist

For the next episode in our ‘Meet The Creator’ blog series, we turn to the incomparable Mr. Chris Haslam. With many fingers in many pies, he is about as prolific as it comes when we talk about UK tech freelancers.

Meet the client: Nicole Ross, Marshall

Next up in our series of ‘Meet the Client’ blogs, we chat to Nicole Ross, Marketing Manager for EMEA at Zound Industries.

Hi Nicole, what are your main responsibilities at Marshall?

As a Marketing Manager for EMEA, I focus on developing marketing plans to fit the UK & German markets. My job is to make sure consumers know who Marshall is and what we offer.

2021: The start of a “new world order” for media and marketing?

Here at Little Red, clients and journalists alike rely on us to have our finger firmly on the pulse, both in terms of the media landscape and also the trends that shape the main sectors we operate in. As such, we prepare and send bi-annual trend reports to our clients. However, 2020 was rather peculiar so we decided to conduct our trends presentation virtually with our clients just before Christmas.

Needless to say, the presentation was very different from previous reports, and encompassed many more elements than simply the influence of the big design fairs and fashion shows.

Our social (media) lives; 2020 edition

2020 has affected us all in various ways… We’re not sure any of us pictured ourselves here back in January but the one constant enhancing, and sometimes hindering, our lives massively is social media. Back in August it was reported that UK adults were spending more than 40 per cent of their waking day on their devices – a whopping 45 hours per week. From perfecting *that Blinding Lights dance* on TikTok to trying to volley a teabag into a mug on Instagram Reels, the social networks have certainly given us a helping hand in reaching this statistic. Instagram even removed its Likes counter this year so that we wouldn’t feel so conscious when posting!

So, what are the biggest social media trends to come out of 2020?

From intern to employee

Here at the Coop, internships have long been championed due to the valuable role they play in the day-to-day of a PR agency. Interning is a valuable & challenging experience that teaches those with little to no experience just how PR really works. Every position here at Little Red , from junior account executives all the way up to account directors, has at one point or another been filled by an ex-intern, showing just how much the company really does value the experience.

Four tech brands that have given us joy and broadened our horizons during lockdown

2020 has been a hugely difficult year for businesses across the world. With the High Street taking an enormous blow, supply chains being disrupted and many losing their jobs, it’s testament to the resilience of these organisations, large and small, that the impact wasn’t more profound.

Amidst these extremely testing circumstances, many tech brands have emerged from the lockdown period in good shape, or even thriving. With many of our ties cut off to the outside world, family and friends, we’ve had to lean on technology for entertainment, communication, education and so much more.
