Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024

As a small but mighty PR company, Little Red Rooster has come a long way since it originated in a back bedroom office as a one woman band’. Recently, being recognised as one of the best places to work by the Sunday Times, is certainly an exceptional moment in our Company history. A moment that our Founder and CEO Victoria Ruffy can reflect upon, acknowledging the journey she and our amazing Roosters have had over the years. It is also a time to ponder what future adventures the Coop has in store, and what we can look forward to.

Not having entered this award before, we wanted to ensure an enhanced employee experience was achieved; the fact the award is based solely on the contributions of the team via an anonymous survey, provided this. We regularly gauge the team’s engagement through the Empowerment platform, but this survey was different. The 31 questions measure six key drivers including Reward and Recognition, Information Sharing, Empowerment, Pride, Job Satisfaction and Wellbeing.

Little Red Rooster scored in the top percentile for each of these areas – no mean feat! Information Sharing coming out on top with an excellent score of 94%. We pride ourselves on this. Keeping our team in the loop regarding all business endeavours is key to our progressive company culture and is a vital part of engaging and retaining employees, as they feel involved and listened to.

In the question breakdown, our highest score came from our treating sustainability as a priority, where we scored a whopping 95%. Our B Corp credentials stand for themselves! It has given us laser focus in terms of our policies, and sits at the heart of everything we do. Being B Corp isn’t just about being ‘green’ or ‘eco’ – it’s about being completely transparent in the way we run our business, which is emphasised in our ability to successfully share information.

We also scored an amazing 93% when assessing how proud individuals felt about working for the Company. This means the world to us. Knowing our team take pride in their work encourages our own understanding of their personal contributions to the job. They feel valued and value their own efforts to help our Company succeed and provide quality services to our clients. It’s a win-win!

So, as we relish this moment of pride, what does it mean for the future? Yes, a printed certificate is now hanging pride of place in the office and yes, we can shout about it on our social platforms, but ultimately, it helps to galvanise a purpose and sense of belonging – a workplace family. It helps us know we are doing something right. We work hard to reward loyalty, champion diversity, recognise and reward knockout results and the effort behind this, whilst also placing a holistic emphasis on the team’s wellbeing.

Among the 50,000 global organisations reviewed for this award we are proud to stand out as one of the 500 leading examples of this prestigious ranking and are excited for the Company’s future.
