But we start with Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2025, and the impact it could have on everything from product design to packaging…
Pantone’s Mocha Mousse: The colour of comfort

Credit: Pantone
Pantone has chosen Mocha Mousse (PANTONE 17-1230) as the colour of the year for 2025. This rich, soft brown tone evokes warmth, comfort, and indulgence — perfectly in line with the growing desire for wellness and ‘thoughtful indulgence’. Expect this colour to flood everything from fashion to home décor. Ariat and King Living, we’re looking at you for your buttery leathers and natural timbers.
The key takeaway: Integrate Mocha Mousse into your product designs, photography, and packaging. In the tech and home décor space, this is a perfect hue for promoting limited-edition products that invoke relaxation and warmth.
Mix & maximalist: The bold, the brighter, the better

More will be more. Consumers will embrace eclectic maximalism in their homes, blending bold patterns, vivid colours, and diverse textures. Forget minimalist interiors; the new trend is layering, combining statement pieces, and creating an environment that is rich in both style and personality.
The key takeaway: This is your chance to go big or go home. Think bold prints, vibrant hues, and unique textures. Perhaps a photoshoot showcasing eclectic, maximalist interiors paired with complementary products.
Cherry Coded: A sweet twist on fashion, food & home

Cherries are making a comeback — and not just as a food flavour. From cherry martinis to cherry-inspired home décor, Gen Z and Millennials will be all about cherry vibes in 2025. Expect to see a rise in cherry-inspired beauty products, from cherry-scented skincare to red cherry-themed fashion.
The key takeaway: Brands could play with cherry red packaging or create campaigns that highlight the vibrant, sweet allure of cherries. Collaborating with influencers who embody this playful, nostalgic aesthetic could help engage younger audiences.
Terra Futura: Sustainability meets sci-fi

Sustainability is always on the agenda, but in 2025, the trend goes futuristic. Enter Terra Futura — an eco-living movement blending practical, sustainable living with sci-fi vibes. Expect self-sufficient gardens, solar punk fashion, and recyclable collections. Consumers (particularly Gen X and Boomers) will seek out brands blending tech with eco-consciousness, creating products good for the planet and futuristic in design.
The key takeaway: Align with consumers’ growing desire for eco-friendly, sustainable products that feel ‘next gen’. Think about integrating recyclable materials into your product lines and incorporating green tech into your brand’s messaging.
Rococo Revival: Classic meets couture

Drawing inspiration from the late Baroque period, expect ultra-feminine, luxe accessories, corset gowns, and ornate table settings to influence everything from weddings to parties. For brands in the fashion and event sectors, now’s the time to lean into over-the-top femininity — lace, frills, and all things opulent.
The key takeaway: If you’re a fashion brand, get ahead of the trend by creating an edit that taps into Rococo-inspired glamour, or consider offering personalised accessories that evoke this period. Event planners can play up the historical opulence of the Rococo era, using vintage-inspired décor and settings.
Goddess Complex: Empowering beauty

This trend is all about embracing feminine power, with consumers indulging in luxurious self-care rituals, like gold facials, opulent dressing and goddess braids. Gen X and Boomers are especially drawn to this empowering aesthetic celebrating strength, self-expression, and divine femininity.
The key takeaway: Consider products embodying this sense of empowerment — be it luxe and gold-infused so consumers feel like pampered royalty. Marketing campaigns should lean into ‘self-mastery’, helping consumers feel powerful and radiant.
Surreal Soirées: Tablescapes tinged with modern surrealism

Think the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party featuring curvy candlesticks, fantastical flowers and gravity-defying centrepieces. In 2025, people will infuse their tablescapes and décor with modern surrealism. And it’s Gen X and Boomers driving this keeping-it-unreal party trend.
The key takeaway: Tap into a desire for the whimsical. Embrace playful, avant-garde designs, and appeal to nostalgia while offering modern interpretations. Surrealism also thrives on intricacy — brands should emphasise artistry and craftsmanship. Hush Puppies’ Better & Brighter, enter stage left.
Peak Travel: Escape to the mountains

Credit: Pinterest
While cities were once the ultimate travel destination, 2025 will see a shift towards the serenity of the mountains. Think fresh air, adventure, and nature’s beauty with The Dolomites, Atlas Mountains, and Portillo some of the hottest (coldest) destinations.
The key takeaway: Highlight the escapism and adventure of mountain travel in your campaigns. If you’re in fashion, focus on chic mountain-ready outfits and accessories — think après-ski meets luxury outdoor wear.
Aura Beauty: wear your mood

Credit: Pinterest
Beauty is shifting towards a more expressive, personalised approach. Aura beauty is set to dominate, with Gen Z and Boomers embracing the idea of high-hue make-up inspired by your energy. Expect bold, full colour looks with purple blush, golden auras and other electrifying shades. With ‘mood ring’ makeup trending, brands should consider incorporating vibrant, mood-influencing colours in their products or campaigns. A playful photoshoot, featuring models with intense, vibrant hues across cheeks and eyes, could make for eye-catching social media content.
The key takeaway: Create and promote products with colour-changing or transformative effects. Also, consider collaborating with influencers who are known for experimenting with unique beauty looks, bringing attention to this ‘wear-your-mood’ aesthetic.
What the Coop had to say…

We canvassed opinion from across Team Rooster on the hot interiors and fashion trends right now, and here’s what they had to say…
‘Hello Yellow’ takes inspiration from Dulux’s colour of the year 2025, True Joy, the colour has been seen across Frank & Faber Design Studio and Paint & Paper Library. From vivid to dull tones, yellow interiors effortlessly introduce life and energy to a room. Fully painted walls or accent touches can be used to jump on this trend.
‘Tactile Textures’ embraces natural materials and flowing forms, reminiscent of rugged environments. Think shades of ochre, russet and moss. Thick linens and textured fabrics also bring elegance and comfort together. New collections from Laura Hammett Living and Andrew Martin represent this aesthetic, while stone and marble finishings continue to be popular in interior design .
‘Pastel Palettes’ include aqua, prickly pear pink, spearmint green, and sky blue. This refreshing mix has also been seen on the LFW runway with Prada, Jacquemus and Bottega Veneta using buttery yellow. Cole & Son, Claire de Quénetain and Pollack Altfield unveiled new fabric and wallcovering collections highlighting this soft, joyous palette.
‘Modern Classics’ comprises classical influences with modern twists. Combining the pastel palettes with golds, deep reds, and leafy greens are taken straight from country homes. A new Nobilis footstool range emphasises plinth bases, soft edges and all-over upholstery. Here, craftsmanship and character are favoured over minimalism.
‘Mod Mavens’ is inspired by the recent mod revival, thanks to the return of Oasis and the upcoming reimagining of Quadrophenia at Sadlers Wells in 2025, ‘60s-esque mini dresses popped up on runways across the capital. From classic short-sleeved shifts, to ruffles and baby doll styles, one thing was for sure – the shorter the better.
‘Crystal Maze’ confirms ‘more is more’ when it comes to bling for SS25, creating a decadent delight for night or day. Crystals adorned everything from coats to slip dresses, mixing with metallic accessories, sequin details and shimmery fabrics for unapologetically ornate opulence.
‘Artful Draping’ involves fabrics made to move like liquid, as models walk down the runway looking like works of art. Chiffon and lightweight jerseys ruched and draped into ethereal silhouettes make this sexy, universally-flattering technique a fashion fan favourite.
‘Fringe Benefits’ showcases fringing and tassels of all shapes and sizes. From chunky cord to delicate beading, from feathers to chains, every iteration adds texture and movement to a host of looks. Bags with long, statement tassels also offer a much easier way to embrace the trend.
‘It’s Complicated’ tears up the rule book with deconstructed styles highlighting new printing techniques and explorative construction. Frayed hems, bleached denim and unusual silhouettes remind us that it’s all a bit of fun, and really, anything goes.
