TO B OR NOT TO B?

Today, we at the Coop are beyond proud to share we have gained B Corp certification in the UK.

This has been a passion project for our founder and CEO Victoria Ruffy and after two years of hard graft, Little Red Rooster has become one of only 25 PR agencies in the UK with B Corp status*, receiving a score of 90.8 (a score of 80 is the threshold to pass) for its first assessment report which is extremely high for a service-based company.

Little Red Rooster, outperformed in all sectors in comparison to other brands within its sector (average 80.1), other brands in the United Kingdom (82.3) and its size range (81.8).

Being a B Corp company means that Little Red Rooster is now part of a community of change makers and organisations with shared values collaborating to drive and support positive change.

The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Little Red Rooster is the tenth best consumer agency outside London, second biggest consumer PR agency in the south and moved up nine places becoming 54th on the list of best consumer agencies overall and up 14 places to 163 on the list of agencies ‘bubbling under’, in this year’s prestigious PR Week UK Top 150 list.

The combination of industry accolades with B Corp accreditation is recognition of Little Red Rooster’s commitment to balancing profit with meeting rigorous social and environmental standards. The B Corp certification process covers five key impact areas; governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. It requires evidence of responsible practices – including worker compensation, diversity, and corporate transparency.

The agency’s B Corp accreditation was managed by founder and CEO Victoria Ruffy and head of operations, Lucy Pritchard.

Ruffy commented:

“It is beyond rewarding to know we are one of just 25 PR agencies to achieve B Corp accreditation in the UK and it’s a club we are extremely proud to be members of.

Given that we put our clients at the centre of everything we do, and our number one priority is their satisfaction, it is no surprise that our most successful area of grading was for customers. We scored a PERFECT score of 5/5 here vs our country average (3.1), sector average (2.7) and size range (2.8), which is something I am exceptionally proud of.

This was closely following by the treatment of our team, we scored 35.2 – Vs our country average (24), sector average (22.2) and size range (22.3). Our highest performing area here was health, wellness, and safety – 11.2 out of 12. Career development, engagement, and satisfaction all also performed extremely high.

We will build on this accreditation by continuing to develop a considered and far-reaching action plan that benefits our staff, clients, environment, and the community in which we operate.

In fact, the accreditation is just the start and as part of our commitment to long term change Lwe have created a short term local economic development implementation plan to focus on increasing our already strong use of local suppliers to 80%.”
