This week at the coop, we invited a series of high-profile journalists to dive into the unfamiliar and often misunderstood world of classical music with our client, Primephonic.

As you know, we love getting out and about to briefings with journalists to break down all the latest and greatest releases from our clients. But, given the current situation, we were forced to flex our creative muscles.
To that end, we hosted a virtual briefing with our client, dedicated classical music streaming service Primephonic. Led by Primephonicâs head of curation, Guy Jones, and CEO, Thomas Steffens, the pair took us on a tour through the history of classical music and showcased how its innovative app is making a genre previously thought of as complex, elitist, and hard to navigate, more appealing to the masses.
Still, if you are familiar with our work, you will know that â like the legendary Walter White â we do not do things in half measures. That is why we arranged for two delectable bottles of wine and a selection of soft cheeses to be shipped to journalistsâ homes for them to savour while listening to excerpts from Bach to Beethoven and beyond.

When he wasnât whisking us away with soothing scores and debunking âthe Mozart effectâ, Guy was giving us a rundown of how the app works and explaining what sets it apart from its more mainstream competitors. For Primephonic, it comes down to greater granularity and understanding of the genre. Rather than employing algorithms to handle the heavy lifting, Primephonic enlists an in-house collective made up of industry specialists to handpick the playlists, resulting in a selection of carefully crafted playlists that allow listeners to explore new audio avenues instead of hitting a dead end in their music discovery. And, with the largest worldwide classical music database at 3.5 million tracks, users have enough classical music goodness to last a lifetime.
This top-notch event was designed to secure spectacular coverage for Primephonic. Renowned journalists from national (Metro, Financial Times, The Observer), tech (CNET, Pocket-lint, Mac|Life), and lifestyle (Prima, Country Life, The Field) press got to look behind the curtain as Primephonic builds a winning app that works harmoniously with a misunderstood genre.
