neubau launches the first 100% bio-based line of optical frames

With sustainability becoming a more crucial part of our buying habits, neubau, the Austrian sustainable eyewear brand, is delighted to introduce its line of 100% bio-based optical frames with its all-new material innovation, natural3D. For the first time, an entirely natural material made in a 3D printer, allows wearers to combine a love for fashion trends and sustainable awareness.

The all-new material, natural3D, is not only created via both an innovative and sustainable production process but also creates particularly skin-friendly frames with smooth sealed edges and vibrant long- lasting colours. This clever material is formed using the oil extracted from the castor oil plant’s seeds. The resulting powder derived during this extraction is then merged together layer by layer by a laser during 3D printing and any excess material is then reused for additional frames.

As part of this all-new collection, neubau has launched four new models, all named after well-known environmental activists. Greta, Erin, Bill and David offer an even lighter frame alongside a perfect fit and excellent wearing comfort. Their 3D temples also have all been made with an integrated titanium needle, allowing the glasses to be easily adjusted in just a few steps.

First up, Greta, delivers a bold take on a traditionally shaped model. The subtly elongated shape compliments female face shapes whilst striking colour combinations create an eye-catching accessory. Available in deep purple and graphite, ocean teal and gold, sand and rose and black coal and silver, Greta offers a range of natural-inspired shades.

Bill, a unisex frame, features a double nose bridge which offers timeless style whilst an oversized lens shape make a statement on the face. A range of four muted colourway combinations have been applied including deep ocean and graphite, concrete and graphite, olive and gold and black coal and graphite.

Meanwhile, David takes a classic squared shape and injects an oversized style. Again, four masculine colour combinations have been selected for men including deep ocean and graphite, morning coffee and gold, concrete and graphite and black coal and graphite.

Finally, another unisex frame, Erin offers a playful round shape in four vibrant colour combinations. Erin is available in an array of colour combinations from striking burned red and gold or ocean teal and silver to softer olive and graphite or black col and graphite.

The new collection recognises neubau’s dedication to creating sustainable alternatives within an industry that is notorious for waste. Pioneering this since 2016, neubau keeps its ethos of ‘See good, do good’ ethos at the forefront of everything that it does.

Greta, Bill, David and Erin will retail at ÂŁ299 and be available from www.neubau-eyewear.com. Feel free to contact the neubau team for any further info or images.
