Next up in our Meet the Rooster series, we sit down with interiors superstar, Lucia. Armed with her trusty British slang phrasebook, Lucia brings laughs, an incredible accent, and an even more incredible skill for securing press coverage to the coop. Keep reading to find out how we managed to steal her from the recruitment industry, and her highlights over the last year…
Tell us about your work experience and how you came to join the Coop?
After finishing uni with a degree in fashion design and marketing, I spent a short stint recruiting for PR and marketing roles. It turned out to be a great crash course in how the industry actually works, and it made me realise pretty quickly that PR was where I wanted to be. When I came across Little Red Rooster during my research, something just clicked. I knew immediately it was the place I wanted to join.
What does your day-to-day look like?
My day-to-day covers a bit of everything across our interiors accounts. Some of it is the essential admin – sharing coverage, updating reports, and keeping everything organised so our objectives are always on track. The rest is all about actually securing that coverage, from pitching and drafting press releases to keeping up with the news by reading papers and magazines every day. It’s a real balance, but a good one, and it keeps things interesting.
What do you love most about being a member of team Rooster?
Definitely the people and the clients. Working with a team that motivates and supports me daily has helped me learn so much in such a short amount of time. And doing it all with clients I genuinely care about makes the job feel even more rewarding!

Describe your happy place
A cottage in the middle of a field in the Cotswolds, something warm in the oven, an autumn breeze outside, and a few animals wandering around. Basically, anything cosy and countryside-related.

Talk us through some of your work highlights so far…
There are quite a few, but one that sticks in my mind is the launch event we organised for Smeg’s Soda Maker earlier this year – actually three events in one day! We started with a rooftop yoga session for press, showing how the soda maker can be used for healthy drinks, then did the same with influencers, and finished with a cocktail party to showcase some more fun, creative uses.
Another highlight would be our Summer Showcase. It was great to see all our clients together in such a lovely setting.

What advice would you have for someone looking to gain their first role in PR?
Be proactive, get stuck in, and – most importantly – be passionate about what you do. It genuinely makes all the difference.
Tell us something nobody knows about you!
I’ve lived in four very different countries – Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil, and now the UK. Each place has left its mark on me, from the food to the culture, and it’s definitely given me a taste for new experiences (and a slightly confusing mix of accents).
