In the latest instalment to our Meet the Rooster series, we chat to Frankie, senior account executive and new member of the interiors team here at the coop.
Tell us about your Rooster journey so far, and how you got into PRâŠ
I started working for Little Red straight out of Uni. I had completed an internship with the agency the previous summer and had loved the hustle and bustle of busy agency life. My life as a rooster so far has been fun, busy and slightly complicated. I left the agency last year to move to Bristol. Joining a new agency in the West, which I really didnât suit, made me realise everything I had taken for granted at Little Red â the clients I worked for, the buzz of a press office and the brilliant people I worked with. Letâs just say I came back with my tail between my legs and have not looked back.
What excites you most about your job?
A little bit clichĂ©, but I think if you donât always get a buzz when achieving brilliant coverage, this job isnât for you. Seeing one of your clients on the page is the best feeling and makes all the hard work very worthwhile.
What have you been up to at Little Red recently?
Since my big comeback, I joined the interiors team, a completely new sector for me. I have had some exciting new clients the past six months and have really got my teeth into the new challenge.
What makes Little Red PR so special?
Again cliché, but the people who work at the agency. It is great to be surrounded by such fun, creative and passionate people. My colleagues motivate me to be better at my job and it is a brilliant environment to be in.
Describe your happy place?
Sitting in my favourite cafĂ© in Bristol, CafĂ© Amore, and watching the world go by. Or out with my best friends having fun. I love going out and a good party â its been the thing I have missed most during lockdown.
Describe your work wardrobe?
Well… working from home it is an ensemble of tracksuit bottoms and pyjamas. However, when going into the office it is chunky trainers (the bigger the better), mom jeans, thick gold hoops and a colourful top of sorts. I am obsessed with a mix of 70s/90s style.
Top Instagram accounts you follow and why?
@aresaixala for boho Barcelonan fashion, @lunaklestrup for all things scandi street style and @loudoillon because she is the epitome of cool.
As a History graduate, I am obsessed with Instagram feeds that capture both the key moments in history and photography of British culture from the past – @historycoolkids, @historyphotographed and @britishculturearchive are among my favourites.
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to work in PR?
Get some experience. You will never know if you want to do something if you have not tried it first. Learning what you really do not want to do is as valuable as finding out what you do want to do. Be eager, be willing to graft and ensure that you really understand what both your agency and its clients are all about.
