Hi! I’m Ellie, a junior account executive on the consumer team at Little Red Rooster. I joined six months ago (which has absolutely flown by) after I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
One of my highlights since joining LRR includes my very first week at the company, as we hosted the agency’s annual Summer Showcase. I chose to be thrown in the deep end, heading into Soho at 6am to set up a gorgeous five-story London townhouse full of products from renowned brands on our roster. This was an amazing experience where I got to rub shoulders with CEOs, industry leaders and high-profile influencers and journalists. I was able to quickly gain an insight into all the brands the agency worked with. I was hooked!

Could you tell us a bit about your background before joining LRR?
I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism a couple of weeks after I joined the LRR coop. This involved industry-standard news days, where we broadcasted live TV and Radio news shows, gaining experience as a reporter, producer, presenter, and everything in between. Through my time at University, I reported on countless stories from the local area, with live reports, in-studio discussions, and even crafting a Newsround children’s special.
I’ve been nominated for the national BJTC Best Radio Feature Award for my final major project, ‘Finding your Spectrum’, where I investigated the stark increase in women receiving late autism diagnosis’ – why this is happening, and what needs to be done to avoid this going forward. This project has already seen me win two awards at university, and it’s a massive honour to be nominated for a third.
This experience really equipped me with a roster of storytelling skills and an understanding of what it’s like to be a journalist – along with an extensive list of contacts from this course which I hope to keep throughout my career. I can’t wait to see what we all get up to.

What does your job at LRR entail?
I do loads of things in my job role! Primarily, admin and reporting! It’s super important we accurately track our progress and show our clients the gorgeous coverage my colleagues and I secure. I draft press releases and media alerts, and in recent months I’ve been pitching to press, helping me to gain my own black book of contacts. Recently, a big push of ours has been Christmas, so I’ve been pitching to a variety of magazines and online titles to get our products featured in Christmas gift guides. I send out products, make sure the office is clean and tidy, and support the team where I can. I couldn’t ask for a better role to kick-start my PR career!
Tell us three things about yourself…
I’m a Reading FC fan – my Dad has taken me to matches since I was six years old!
I’m a pianist – my favourite piece to play is Claire de Lune.
I’ve been told my celebrity look-a-like is Sophia Loren (when she was younger…I hope).
Where can we typically find you outside of work?
Usually somewhere basic like a dog walk, flat-white in hand, out with friends or watching whatever series I’m absorbed by – Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls, Big Bang Theory etc.
What are three things you would want most if on a deserted island?
SPF (obviously), headphones and mint tea.
