Friday saw our very own Silhouette take to the runway at the capital’s prestige London Fashion Week. Collaborating with Taiwanese-born designer, Malan Breton on his AW20 collection, Silhouette’s TMA Futura shades set off the Firebird Ballet-inspired show.
Hosted at Holborn’s grand St George’s Church, the collection explored the techniques of couture whilst staying true to the importance of sustainability, with statement power suit silhouettes crafted from up-cycled fabrics and recycled plastics. Coupling Breton’s signature blue brocades with fierce reds, faux furs and tulle were used to resemble the embers of the phoenix that the show was inspired by. Subtly adorned by Swarovski crystals and reflective fabrics, onlookers were dazzled by flashes of beams as the AW20 range took to the runway.
Six of the looks were perfectly accessorised by Silhouette’s all-new TMA Futura sunglasses. A 2020 reinterpretation of the brand’s ’70s space-age collection , the TMA Futura combines the era’s legendary glamour with today’s ultra lightweight technologies. In a subdued colour palette, the statement shades added futuristic style to Breton’s runway. Featuring as part of all the menswear looks, the oversized designs were paired with striking silk suits. Matching the TMA Futura’s colour palette, they complemented black jacquard patterns, muted purple shades and dramatic gold prints.

As Silhouette’s London Fashion Week debut, we were ecstatic to take the brand out of its comfort zone and catapult it into the world of fashion. Witnessed by who’s who of the industry, we cannot wait to see the kudos Silhouette receives following the event.
