Last night, Little Red Rooster’s Team Ruark hosted a private soiree in honour of the British audio brand’s newest release: the highly anticipated R5 wireless sound system. Set in the Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel’s glorious Mural Room in the heart of London, LRR brought together a select group of the UK’s top journalists to enjoy a memorable evening in the company of Ruark’s music maestros and their exceptional designs.
The location was a natural fit, as every bedroom and suite in this prestigious hotel is set up with a lovely Ruark product as the sound system of choice.
Once the guests arrived, founder of Ruark Audio, Alan O’Rourke, unveiled the R5 and followed with a hands-on demonstration of the product, which was received with great enthusiasm by the audience. Journalists came from far and wide, and from a wide variety of publications, to witness the latest in the brand’s range of stunning sound systems. Of course, very much a la Rooster, all our guests were welcomed with drinks, great music and a buzzing atmosphere. Attendees included top-tier editors from the likes of Financial Times, Elle Decoration, WIRED, World of Interiors just to name a few, and reflected Ruark’s premium quality and design.
Leading purveyor of stylish stand-alone systems Ruark is renowned for its first-class designs and outstanding audio performance, so it comes to no surprise that the newest addition to the multi-room family dazzles with its design and staggers with its spectacular sound. Yes, you read correctly: not only can you use the R5 on its own, you can link it up to other Ruark multi-room devices, the R7 Mk3, MRx and R2 Mk3.
Its combination of luxurious materials sees a significant evolution of Ruark’s design language that builds upon previous models. R5 offers a performance that almost matches the company’s flagship R7 design and is built on three decades of high-end hi-fi know-how, sounding more akin to larger system with separate speakers. This superbly versatile one-box wonder offers a unparalleled breadth of listening options, whether it be CD, radio, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth with AptX HD. There is even a dedicated phono input for hooking up a turntable.
The R5 will be available to purchase from mid-March 2019, at £999 from www.ruarkaudio.com.
