Christmas comes to the Exertis Exclusive press event

That merry Christmas spirit is already upon us here at Little Red Rooster (never too early in the world of PR). Last week was all about gift-list ideas from our client, Exertis Unlimited, which showed off its most desirable tech wares.

The Exertis Exclusive biannual press event took place just a stone’s throw away from the bustling Tottenham Court road, with 18 spectacular brands showcasing everything from drones to electric scooters. In what was pretty much a tech paradise, journalists from a plethora of titles came along to see what Exertis has in store for this year’s festive season.

Here are our top product highlights from the event:

Yuneec’s foldable drone was jaw-dropping to see in action. The incredible Yuneec team built an indoor net to make the Mantis Q whizz around and show press its remarkable aspects. Not only does this affordable machine look like something from a dystopian future, but it takes impeccable-quality 4K videos and flies at an extraordinary 72kph! However, the most outstanding fact about this ground-breaking drone is its voice control and face-recognition features, thus guaranteeing great selfies and videos.

Australian brand Cygnett offers a supremely comprehensive array of charging options, from portable power banks to wireless charging docks. And now there’s the ChargeUp Swift to sit bang in the middle, offering wireless charging from a 10,000mAh portable power bank. A travel essential.

Being humongous fans of rock’n’roll and niche technology, it’s only natural for us Roosters to absolutely love nostalgic American brand Victrola. The 100-plus-year-old brand has recently been regenerated and it is looking rather fine. Leading the record player market in the US, Victrola has finally arrived in Europe and we can’t wait to get our hands on one of these treasures! The adorable suitcase turntable starts at £59.9, but also on display was The Empire, a retro music centre with turntable, CD player, FM radio and a cassette player (no, really), as well as Bluetooth. All bases covered.

Drawing envious stares from people with worn-out soles was the latest electric scooter from IconBIT, which can travel up to 9km on a full battery. A smooth ride is provided by the 6.5-inch wheels and a powerful 250W motor. An electronic braking system (EBS) with mechanical brake assist allows the battery to be recharged during braking, while an intelligent display shows your speed, distance travelled and remaining battery life. A commuter’s dream gift.

Another absolute favourite was the new Kano Harry Potter coding wand. This easy-to-build wand is perfect for all those tech rookies that want to have a go at easy-peasy coding with 70+ step-by-step challenges to play in the magical world of Harry Potter. A great gift for all ages, whether you’re Gryffindor, Slytherin or one of the other two that barely get any screen/page time. Huffleclaw. Whatever.

Everyone’s favourite dog-shaped speaker is back in three new finishes! The Jarre Technologies AeroBull XS1 is now available in Chrome, Chrome Black, and Chrome Pink, making it even more striking than ever. The XS1 may just look like a statue of a French bulldog wearing shades – and to be honest we’d be happy with that – but it’s also a 120W 2.1 sound system with Bluetooth, a 3.5mm aux in, and 15 hours of battery life. Tres chic.
